      Lent is a period of penitential preparation for Easter. The word Lent is an old English word which means lengthen. In spring, where the days begin to get longer is when lent is observed. Western and eastern churches have different date for Lenten season. Western churches starts lent on ash Wednesday and they exclude Sundays while eastern churches start lent on Monday, 7 week before Easter  and end it on Friday, 9 days before Easter in which they call this period the ‘Great Lent’. The lent period last for 40 days, it imitates the fasting of Jesus Christ in the wilderness before he began his public ministry. The last week of Lent is called Holy week. The Lenten season this year is different because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Churches all over the country adjusted the guidelines to celebrate Ash Wednesday this year amidst the pandemic.   Women are very important in our own world and have a very big role in our community. It is very important that we must acknowledge and give emphasis on what they can give or contribute to the community. That why we have what we call National Women’s Month. This event is annually celebrated every month of March. This celebration emphasise the strength of women in our society, what they can do and contribute on their own way. It is the venue or time to discuss and address issues and concerns regarding women and on how to counter these problems so that we could continue to face challenges and the empowerment of ladies can be fully achieved.  Back to the past, there are big gap between men and women in almost all aspects like work, politics, positions and others to mention. In 1909 and 1911 women in United States participated in organizing strike activities and protested against low wages, lacked of protective legislation and the very poor working conditions that women are subjected to
